I played for a staid older German farmer from Iowa named Herman today. He loved my harp music and singing. It seemed to open him up and he started talking about how he and his wife had so many fantastic travel adventures. Herman said she had died about a year ago.

We got on the topic of how well prepared people are before they actually die. He told me that he had to have emergency surgery shortly after his wife died and that his daughter had taken him to her home afterward. He said that she told him he was not himself the entire day they got home.

He told me, with awe and tears glistening in his eyes, that he had been up in the heavens flying between the clouds and lighting on them. There were soft pastel lights around him. He said it was very peaceful and beautiful and he would never again be afraid of dying since that experience.

He felt the most interesting thing about that day was what his daughter told him later. The entire day Herman had been speaking in tongues (the language of praise)! That is something he had never done before and has never done since. The whole experience obviously prepared him for what was to come, because he was not afraid to go and was actually looking forward to dying!
